When I first saw the trailer of this series on Instagram, I was surprised. Why would a series known as ” Witches” have no coven scenes?. “Witches” is not about demonic women with claws and evil powers but about the typical Lagos girl who wants to live in luxury.

Created by Yemisi Wada, the series is centered on three friends who journey through the city of Lagos with different natures but remain inseparable in good and bad.

Adesewa played by Bikiya Graham-Douglas is the Lagos girl who wants a rich man that can meet her needs. She dates wealthy married men as such she is always running away from their wives who chase and harass her in public."Witches" Is That Interesting YouTube Series You Should Watch This Weekend

Kemi played b Adunni Ade is the good girl amongst the friends. She is the classy Lagos wife, doing her 8-5 and keeping her man from husband snatchers.  She is not in support of Adesewa’s relationship with married men and does not fail to tell her with any opportunity she gets.

Oma played by Marcy Dolapo Oni is indifferent about Adesewa’s decision to date married men. Oma had her heart broken by her longtime boyfriend and now believes all men are liars. She has got Adesewa’s back all the way, as she is also in the quest to find a man.

“Witches” is a well-directed series, with good costumes, scripting, top-notch cinematography, and characters who did justice to the script.

Also, the episodes are also short but in-depth.
