Grammy award-winning singer Burna Boy has addressed claims that he is in a competition of supremacy with Afrobeats star Wizkid.
The “African Giant” artist bared his mind on the matter in a recent interview with DJ Whoo Kid, an American–Haitian hip hop disc jockey.
The singers’ success both locally and internationally has made them the subject of several debates amongst fans on who is superior.
But speaking during the show, the “Ye” singer said there is no rivalry between him and Wizkid.
Burna explained that they are two different artists, noting that while he sings about real life, Wizkid mostly explores songs about love and women.

Burna Boy said the similarity between them has to do with their country of birth and the love they have for each other.
“No, we’re not competing. We are on two different lanes in life, you know? And the only similarity really, is the fact that we are from the same place and we love each other, you get me?
That’s what brings us together. It’s where we’re from and the love we have for each other. Other than that, we are on two different lanes. Wizkid is about the b*tches, You get me? I’m about real life and the b*tches” He said.
In March 2021, Wizkid and Burna Boy clinched their first-ever Grammy award. They were also nominated for the “Best International Act” category at the 2021 edition of the BET Awards but Burna Boy took home the award.
