Wizkid Talks About Last Album, Marriage And A New Look

As the year 2019 slowly draws to an end, many people have plans for the coming year, especially as 2020 marks the beginning of a new decade. In that light, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, a Nigerian superstar popularly known as Wizkid, has revealed some of his plans for the coming year including one last album.

 

From the late hours of Christmas eve, the “Joro” singer took to his official Twitter page to reveal some wild, surprising news. Along with claims of getting married in 2020 and being a new man, Wizkid also declared that his fifth studio album would be his last.

 

First of all, he tweeted that after his highly anticipated “Made In Lagos” album, he would have one last album as Wizkid. This could mean one of two things: the Afropop artiste wants to retire as a musician, or he plans to change his stage name, Wizkid, to something else.

 

 

Likely being the second option, the tweet elicited reactions from his fans on social media. Some fans proffered some name suggestions for the singer, with possible new names ranging from WizLion and Wizman to StarSir.

 

So far, Wizkid has released three albums: Superstar (2011), “Ayo” (2014), “Sounds From The Other Side” (2017). Now, fans highly anticipate his forthcoming “Made In Lagos” album, which he’s been talking about for the past two years.

Starboy also revealed that he would be getting married in the year 2020. He later tweeted that he is trying to change his ways and that he is now a new man. Although we are not aware of Wizkid being in a relationship, perhaps he plans to settle down with one of the multiple women he’s been linked to in the past.

 

Wizkid fathers three boys from different women: Sola Ogudugu, Binta Diallo and Jada Pollock. In recent times, there have also been rumours of him being romantically linked to Afropop singer Tiwa Savage. However, he once said, during a 2018 radio interview on Urban 96.5 FM Lagos, that he might never get married. This is because, according to him, there are a lot of women dear to his heart. He said, “I have no plans to [marry] except all the women that have ever been in my life agree to marry me at the same time.”

 

 

To add to the list of surprises, the award-winning musician also unveiled a new look. Although the image was generated by the infamous FaceApp, we got to see an older Wizkid sporting a stubble beard.

 

Some fans believe that he might just be pulling a publicity stunt ahead of Starboy Fest Lagos scheduled to hold tomorrow, 26th December 2019. We’d find out the truth eventually.
