Wizkid’s “Essence”, a song which features Tems, has debuted at No 82 on Billboard Hot 100 chart.
Billboard Hot 100 broke the news in a tweet on Monday, 12th July 2021. Making the cut with “Essence’”, Wizkid becomes the first Nigerian to score a Billboard Hot 100 entry. This earns Tems her first career entry on the chart.
This is Wizkid’s third appearance on the charts, after he and Drake’s “One Dance” hit number 1 in 2016.
Billboard Hot 100 rankings are based on sales physical and digital, radio play, and online streaming in the United States.
“Essence” is one of the tracks of “Made In Lagos”, Wizkid’s last studio album released in October last year.
The 14-track project features global heavyweights like Damian Marley, Skepta, H.E.R, and Ella Mai alongside Burna Boy.
