iPhone previewed loads of new updates coming to iPhone on iOS 15, with Facetime, privacy, and messaging having a chunk of the updates during its WWDC 2021 keynote.
The company’s video & call application “Facetime” is receiving major updates positioning it as the next major “Zoom” and “Microsoft Teams” alternative. The app receives some love from spatial audio, and voice isolation which helps to reduce annoying background noise.
Portrait mode’s blurred backgrounds come into play, and users can share videos and music during calls. Also, PC and Andriod users can now join a facetime through a shareable link that opens in their web browsers.
Messages got some love too. iOS 15 makes it possible to show others when you have enabled “Do Not Disturb Mode” as an automatic reply in Messages. Users can set an override for this feature for urgent messages.
Apple went big on privacy controls in iOS 15, users will receive an App Privacy Report of a seven-day summary of how often apps used location information and their phone’s microphone or cameras.
