Xiaomi 12 Pro launches with 12GB RAM and Android’s most powerful Snapdragon chipset

Xiaomi has launched what is currently the most powerful Android smartphone in India, and the rest of the world should be expecting it anytime soon. Here are the specs that set Xiaomi 12 Pro apart.

Xiaomi 12 Pro specs

The 6.73-inch display may not immediately catch the eye, but as soon as the light comes on, the power of the 2.5K+ 120Hz AMOLED screen hits you. Its 1440 x 3200 resolution coupled with an almost 90% screen-to-body ratio gives maximum viewing experience.

Then, there is the pinhole cutout selfie camera to ensure that there’s only a little obstruction on the screen. The selfie snapper itself is a 32MP lens, while the triple 50MP rear cameras will give any professional photography equipment a run for its money. The cameras come with HDR and panorama features, with the rear shooter able to record 8K videos.

Still on the screen, the Xiaomi 12 Pro supports an under-display fingerprint reading too.

Far from where the eye reaches is a Qualcomm SM8450 Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 pulling the strings. The chipset clocks a speed of 3 GHz and runs on Android 12 (or a rebranded version of it called MIUI 13).

For memory, the smartphone blows almost any other Android phone away with its 8GB/128GB, 8GB/256GB, and 12GB/256GB offerings. No wonder it doesn’t support microSD.

In the power department, the smartphone surprisingly packs a 4,600mAh battery. It is a shock because even lower-end phones are launching with 5,000mAh batteries. Pairing its superior features and a battery like this means that users may find themselves charging their phones frequently.

Fortunately, they won’t have to wait for it to fill as the phone supports 120W fast charging (i.e. you can charge it fully in just 18 minutes). It also supports 50W wireless charging and 10W reverse wireless charging.
