Twitter, the famous start-spot of heated and heavy conversations recently saw Omoyele Sowore and Burna Boy have a go at each other.
If you know Burna Boy, then you would know he makes socially conscious music. Music that speaks of the political and economic unrest in Nigeria.
Several of his songs like “Ye”, “Collateral damage” and most recently a song off his latest album “Monsters You Made” critiques the government while sensitising the people to stand against their oppressors.
Omoyele Sowore, presidential aspirant and activist called on Tuesday, September 29th called out Burna on Twitter asking why he hasn’t seen him lead a protest within the country.
“Hello @burnaboy, everywhere I turn people describe you as a revolutionary musician, the foreign media even celebrate you compare you to Fela Kuti, but I am yet to see you lead anyone to a police station carrying a coffin for head of state!” He wrote.

This statement sparked off varied reactions. While some told Sowore to leave Burna Boy alone, others sided with the politician, wondering why the artist never puts words to action.
Burna, true to his nature had some words for Sowore. He responded by saying he’s not Fela and has no interest in politics.
@YeleSowore Well. I am NOT FELA. I Have said that countless times. But you sir Are a politician. Leave me out of your schemes. Thanks

He also made sure to let Sowore know he doesn’t trust him and all other Nigerian politicians.
Everybody is a Fela fan and supporter now that he is dead. Humans are so Funny, You politicians are ALL the same (especially in Nigeria) and Frankly I don’t trust none of you.@YeleSowore.
