Zendaya born Zendaya Maree Stoermer Coleman has cautioned viewers ahead of the premiere of HBO’s Euphoria. She took to social media ahead of its Sunday night premiere to give a warning to audiences.

Over the years, and ever since her debut on Disney’s “Shake it Up , she has garnered a young, loyal fan-base. She, therefore, sent out a strong advisory to her young fans informing them the show is for mature audiences.

In passing the message across, she shared a tweet to her over 15 million followers on twitter warning them of the graphics and its triggering effect. The “Euphoria” series has one of the most explicit modern takes on adolescence ever shown on US television.

“Just a reminder before tonight’s premiere, that Euphoria is for mature audiences,” wrote Zendaya.

“It’s raw and honest portrait of addiction, anxiety and the difficulties of navigating life today. There are scenes that are graphic, hard to watch and can be triggering,” she added.

She continued, “Please only watch if you feel you can handle it. Do what’s best for you. I will still love you and feel your support. Love, Daya.”

Ever since the release of Euphoria trailer, there has been a buzz about the content.

HBO’s newest series is a high school drama that portrays such jarring content of drugs and s*x. This series is a break from her role as a child star into a more raw and real world of s*x and addiction.

In Euphoria, Zendaya plays the role of Rue. Rue is a teenage drug addict. At ATX Television Festival last week, Zendaya revealed that the role is “very different”.

She also added that she wanted to get people to see her a little more differently. “I just knew that I had to take my time and I had to go slow, and I had to earn my way up,” she added.

“It was just about being patient and slowly opening those doors for myself and getting into the rooms and getting people to see me a little bit more in a different way and not ever pushing it too far too fast. I think a moment like this, if it happened too soon, people wouldn’t be willing to accept it,” she concluded.

Twitter users also composed their very own warning message to warn viewers ahead of the premiere on television.

“A reminder to not let kids watch Euphoria. Yes, Zendaya might be your kid’s favourite but this isn’t a kids’ show,” Twitter user @brooklyndaya wrote. “Zendaya is allowed to play whatever she wants. She doesn’t have to play only children-friendly parts just because kids look up to her. Just don’t let kids watch this,” she added.
